The Events Manager will serve as a key strategic partner to attorneys and professional staff, responsible for the comprehensive planning, management, and execution of the firm's client-facing events. This role encompasses end-to-end logistical support for a wide portfolio of events, including client receptions, dinners, conferences and other business development initiatives that advance the firm's strategic client engagement and practice development objectives. The Events Manager will work closely with the Business Development team and with partners and practice group leaders. This position reports to the Associate Director of Marketing Operations and is based in the firm's New York office, with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule (currently 3 days/week in-office).

Responsibilities

  • Budget Development & Financial Oversight. Develop and manage event budgets, track expenditures, negotiate vendor contracts to control costs, and ensure timely processing of invoices. Provide regular financial updates to stakeholders.
  • Innovative Event Concepts. Develop and propose creative event concepts, formats, and agendas that align with practice group priorities.
  • Post-Event Analysis & Reporting. Conduct comprehensive post-event evaluations. Maintain accurate event data.
  • Branding & Communications. Partner with Business Development, Communications, Marketing Technology and other internal teams to ensure consistent branding and integrated communications across all events and related touchpoints.

Compensation: The anticipated base salary range offered for this role will be between $140,000 - $160,000 and represents the firm's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible base compensation. Actual base compensation will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, performance, qualifications, degrees, and location, well as the needs of the firm.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in event planning and management, preferably in a law firm, professional services firm, or similar high-velocity client-service environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in end-to-end event management, including venue selection, vendor negotiation, budget management, and on-site execution.
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities simultaneously.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with attorneys, senior leadership, and external partners.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and crisis-management skills, with the ability to maintain composure and deliver successful outcomes under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new software and platforms quickly.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to the highest quality of finished product.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team, in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to support events in other offices and locations.
  • Experience with CRM and event management platforms preferred.
